Grandy House Co., Ltd. has announced plans for Sakura no Oka Nishihara PARKS, a large-scale residential subdivision comprising 146 detached homes on the former site of the Utsunomiya Grand Hotel, which closed in 2021. Located on the elevated Asahigaoka area west of JR Utsunomiya Station, the approximately 35,392-square-meter development offers convenient access to transportation and everyday amenities.
A key feature of the project is the creation of Nishihara Sakura no Oka Park within the community. The park will preserve the site's historical legacy by featuring a symbolic wild cherry tree propagated from a tree originally gifted by Emperor Meiji to the former hotel's garden. Additional landscaping elements, including Japanese white pines, red pines, wisteria, and ornamental stones relocated from the hotel's garden, will help create a traditional Japanese atmosphere. The park will also include playground equipment for different age groups, a gazebo, and benches, providing a welcoming space for residents of all generations. The developer aims to create a cohesive streetscape through coordinated planning of residential blocks, roads, parks, and lighting.
Site preparation is scheduled for completion in September, with sales expected to begin in early October. Details on the number of land lots and pricing have not yet been announced.
