Starting in winter 2025, Tokyu Corporation and Tokyu Railway, in collaboration with the Saginuma Station Redevelopment Association, will launch a transformative redevelopment project centered on Saginuma Station on the Tōkyū Den-en-toshi Line. This ambitious plan covers approximately 2.3 hectares and includes two new districts: the Station-Front District and the North District.
Station-Front District: A mixed-use skyscraper rising 32 stories above ground and 2 stories below, featuring commercial spaces, a civic center, library, large hall, residences, offices, and parking—spanning roughly 83,193 m² in total floor area. Scheduled for completion in fiscal year 2031.
North District: A 19-story building (plus two basement levels) offering public facilities such as a local ward office, a small hall, residences, and parking—covering approximately 26,123 m² of floor area. Completion is planned for fiscal year 2035.
Simultaneously, extensive renovations at Saginuma Station are planned. These include:
A new ticket gate directly connected to the basement of the redevelopment building.
Escalators and elevators linking the new gate to the platforms for improved accessibility.
A north–south “free passage” to unify the areas divided by the station, lined with new commercial outlets.
All these improvements aim to create seamless pedestrian flow, enhance multimodal transfers (e.g., train, bus, taxi), and foster a vibrant public plaza around the station.
