By unit size, the highest growth rates were seen in Fukuoka for single and family-type units, while Tokyo’s 23 wards led the increase for couple-sized units. Notably, rents for couple and family-type properties rose in all 13 areas.
In Tokyo’s 23 wards, rents continued to hit record highs, with single-occupant units exceeding ¥110,000 on average and marking over 20 consecutive months of increases. Similar upward trends were observed in rental apartments, with all areas showing growth in couple and family segments.
Overall, the data indicates a broad and sustained rise in rental housing costs, particularly in major urban markets.
