Tokyo Kantei announced the October 2025 monthly rent trends for condominium units across Japan’s three major metropolitan regions. The figures represent advertised rents converted to a per–square meter basis.

In the Greater Tokyo Area, average condominium rents rose for the first time in three months, reaching 3,889 yen per square meter, up 1.2% month-on-month and surpassing the previous one-year high recorded in July. Tokyo (4,679 yen, +1.4%) and Chiba (2,067 yen, +0.4%) saw increases, while Kanagawa (2,637 yen, –0.6%) and Saitama (2,113 yen, –0.1%) continued their downward trend.

In the Kinki region, rents declined for the fifth consecutive month, falling to 2,235 yen (–0.3%) as weakening demand and a reduced share of listings in Osaka dragged down the regional average. Osaka Prefecture dropped to 2,568 yen (–0.5%), while Hyogo Prefecture climbed to 1,831 yen (+1.6%), exceeding the April–July levels by more than 20 yen.

In the Chubu region, both the regional average (2,091 yen, +1.7%) and Aichi Prefecture (2,147 yen, +1.7%) reached their highest levels in the past year. The rise was driven by an increase in newer properties entering the rental market, which lowered the average building age by more than one year and supported the region’s firm upward trend.
